Using Film in Teacher Training: Opinions, Insights, and Recommendations

Film has been widely used in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). also with teacher candidates of various subjects. Yet, the use film EFL is very scarce. Thus, current study explores candidates’ opinions on using film, specifically an assignment, employing qualitative research design. The was conducted 38 selected through convenience sampling and who were enrolled 4-year ELT program. Open-ended questions administered to participants select their find out insights they have gained about profession, suggestions for training. results analyzed thematic analysis revealed that had positive favorable part assignment because could focus due provided, employ critical thinking, though it efficient assessment alternative. profession realization extends beyond classroom, compelling, possible impacts teachers can students. Among related general focusing target language. It hoped suggested this will contribute wider candidates.
